Things Fall Apart 

Chapters 7-13

Ikemefuna has develop a great influence in okonknwo´s feelings. Nwoye has been also influenced by him, because he is becoming into a masculine figure based on his attitude. He also knows that he pleases his father when he expresses hate towards women. The locusts arrived to Umofia and they will return next year for sevenss years. Ogbuefi Ezeudu tells Okonkwo that ikemefuna had to be killed because the Oracle said. He tells him not to take part in the boy`s death, but thoughtlessly he did take part. After the death of Ikemefuna, Okonkwo felt weak, and he couldnt sleep or eat. he thought feelings were for women . He wishes that Enzima were a boy, while he was talking with his friend Oberika because he wanted to congratulate Maduka on his successfull wrestling. Then they started to argue wether it was right or wrong the action he did on Ikemefuna´s deaath. Okonkwo starts to be councious that if he would have work, he would not be thinking o f ikemefuna. Days later, he visits Oberika again, oberika was discussing the bride price with the family of his daughter suitor. They start to discuss about the practice of things, what were his skills, also tapping palm trees por palm-wine. 
Ekwefi wakes okonkwo very early, because Enzinma is almost dying of a disease, she is very worried because she had a past. The gossip of Umofia tells that Ekwefi has an Ogbanje which is a wicked child who continually enters to her womb to kill her sons. So that is why Every illness that Enzinma catches still brings brings terror and anxiety to her.  
Days after, the village did as a few years ago, a ceremonial gathering to administer justice. The egwugwu, which are the clan´s ancestral spirits emerge from a secret house where no woman is allowed to go in. Everyone is scared of them although they know they aren´t the real spirits. Everyone espects that okonkwo is among them. The ceremony started and the husband Uzowulu sais that the 3 brothers of his wife, Mgbafo beat him and took her and the children from his hut, but would not return to be her bride-price. And in the other sie the women said that he is a man who beat her sister and he even caused her to misscarry once. They argued that Usoxulu must beg Mgbafo, and if she agrees their brothers will keep an eye on him. 
Time passed and it was time for Enzima to tel Okonkwo a story. It was about a tortoise and how he cheated on some birds who trusted him. How the turtle first has the power among all of the birds, but by the group work they ended up having more power than he did. After telling this story, Chielo, a priesteess informs Ekwefi that Agbala, wishes to see Enzima. Okonkwo and ekwefi tried to persuade Chielo but he didn´t care, she ended up carrying ezinma. Rapidly Ekwefi follows them as they go to the oracle´s cave. Okonwko tried to calm her and when he arrives at the cave, he sits her down. 
The next day, at dawn, Chielo came to Ekwefi´s hut and leaved Ezinma without saying a word. It turned out that Okonkwo was too very worried about her the night before. he forced himself to wait a while before walking yo the Oracle´s shrine, and he founded empty because Cheilo was making her rounds to the 9 villages. The family begins to prepare a ceremony for Oberika´s daughter Uri. Everyone contributes with food and Oberika buys a huge goat to present it to his future in lwas. A cow escaped from a man´s territory so he had to pay for setting his cows loose on his neighbor´s farm. The other family members arrive with a huge box of 50 pots of wine to celebrate. The ceremony was a sucess.
Ogbuefi Ezedu died, the villagers recieved the notice by a musical instrument that was played. His funeral is large and elaborated, Okonkwo feels very bad but again, dont shows it. Okonkwo´s gun goes off and kills Ezeudu´s son. Okonkwo received a punishment, and he has to take his family into exile for 7 years. The go to the village of his mother Mbanta. Oberkia starts to think of why a accidental killing was such a big deal for him and then he mourns the deaths of his wife´s twins which he was forced to throw away because of the Oracle.
